Opening in 1891, the Uvalde Grand Opera House is proud to be the oldest operating Opera House in the state of Texas with the most original features still in tact. Come tour the Opera House and discover more about its increible history!
Youth Players on the Plaza
Our annual summer youth program, Youth Players on the Plaza (YouPOP) is a 5 week theater program where kids ages 10-18 learn what it takes to put on a show! From the cast, crew, makeup, costumes, and sets, everything is done by the kids. Come see this years productions of Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars July, 18,19,20! History
The Opera House opened its doors to the public in 1891. Throughout the years, this has been a place for Uvalde to have a sense of community, a creative outlet, and a place to grow together.
